…just want to know if there is much greenery around there..or is it all quite bland. The hotels are amazing and am loving the look but the surroundings in the pics do look quite bare…we will be staying on resort but I do like the odd palm tree and flower to look at. Anyone been and can you advise?
Thanks
I am a Capeverdean born in Boston, however I have visited. Every Island has a different landscape and overall feel. Judging from the fact you are staying at a resort, i assume you will either be in Praia, Santiago, or on the Island of Sal. Each Island has different things to offer. Fogo, for example, is a big volcanic island which is still active, and offers beautiful black sand beaches as well as amazing views from the higher altitudes, especially of the island of Brava. Praia has a great night life and is the most populous and modernized city of Cape Verde. Sal has amazing beaches, restaurants and more of the tropical resort vacation feel, but yes, outside of the resorts, the island is quite bare. Sal is the Portuguese word for salt, the high salt content of the land and over deforestation has led to a pretty baron landscape.
