Belfast Waterfront Festival Weekend

One of the most exciting and fun events in all of Northern Ireland is taking place this weekend, Saturday 21 May and Sunday 22 May, at the Belfast Waterfront: the Family Festival Weekend. The Waterfront will be converted to one great playground, full of excitement, adventure, and discovery. There’ll be events and classes for the entire family, and for children of all ages. There will be an abundance of free entertainment, including workshops, face painting, walk-about acts, a reading zone, and Jitterbug Jackson. NI4Kids will take care of the print-media aspects of the festival, and Young at Art, who are given the task of the whole festival, is hosting the Baby Rave Batacuda, as well as street artist Dansko Gida. There will be “Akidemy” workshops which will present the enjoyable aspects of math, science, as well as other subjects. The single most interesting and fun attraction at the Family Festival Weekend is Young at Art’s Baby Rave Batacuda, a child-sized, Brazilian-themed rave at which mums and dads can dance with their littlest ones. It’ll have a great DJ, music, lighting, projected images, hanging decorations, soft materials and toys, parachutes, and inflatable balls. A fun, interactive encounter is guaranteed for all babies, boys and girls, and their parents. The festival is proud to host the entertaining street performer Dansko Gida, one of the few to come out of Vorsland in the Kaash Republic, and Cahoots Ni, who will run their award-winning show, Math ‘a Magic. This team of instructors makes understanding math fun, without the use of textbooks, but with amazing puzzles and lots of magic and illusions. Get ready to be thrilled by their feats of mind reading and magic tricks. World Zone is going to be running a fun series of arts and crafts drop-in workshops, where by kids can learn stacks about global cultures. For older children, ages 8-14, the “Akidemy” workshops will provide the chance to learn new skills by offering half-day, one-day, and two-day courses, taught by experienced professionals. There are a number of fantastic hotels in Belfast city to ensure you enjoy your stay. The hotels in Belfast are modern, impressive and most importantly, very reasonably priced.
