Hi, I want to take my parents to the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Vegas. There’s a lazy river I can’t wait to relax in, and I know my parents will love it too. We can go almost anytime, but June 14-17 would be ideal. I tried Orbitz, and the cost in July is $330 per person for 3 nights including air from San Jose, CA. Do you know of an even better deal at the Mandalay? I believe the only other hotel that has a lazy river is the Montecarlo, and maybe also the MGM Grand. Please don’t suggest any other hotels if they don’t have this type of pool. Thank you for your help!

You will get a much better hotel rate during the week than on a weekend. You are correct about MGM & Monte Carlo. By far, Mandalay Bay has the nicest biggest pool area. But there are a few other considerations.
All three hotels are in the same basic area. Mandalay Bay is the hotel at the Southern most part of the Strip. However, it is connected to Luxor and Excalibur by a free tram (sort of a mini-monorail) that saves a lot of walking. As you walk out of the Excalibur you are right next to New York, New York then the Monte Carlo. There is another free rail-tram from Monte Carlo to Bellagio so getting from either Mandalay Bay to Bellagio (where everyone heads to see the dancing fountains at night) is pretty easy. The MGM Grand is just across the Strip from New York, New York and there is a pedestrian bridge over the Strip complete with both escalators and elevators to make it even easier.
The other thing to consider is that MGM is gigantic as is Mandalay Bay. You would not believe how far you have to walk just to get from the front desk to your room. The trip to and from the pool area can be a hike, too. That is where the advantage shifts to Monte Carlo. Monte Carlo is on a more human scale. The final consideration is price. Of these three, the Monte Carlo is the least expensive. You may even be able to book a suite for the cost of a room at the other places.
Hope this helps!
Good Luck!

Monte Carlo does not have a lazy river. Check www. lasvegasnow. com for deals but realize this is the height of the summer tourist season and prices go up. Pick a trip for Sun through Thursday for the best prices. And if that $330 includes airfare with the prices of gas that is not bad.
Here are a few discount codes for Mandalay Bay and other hotels on the strip.

Check the current hotel promotions for Mandalay Bay and MGM on http://www. vegas-hotels-online. com
They have the newest deals available.
Weekends do cost the most.
And you may be out of luck for those dates at Mandalay Bay unless a consolidator like Expedia or Hotels. com or Orbitz has prepurchased a block of rooms.
We are sorry but we are closed for arrivals on the arrival date you have selected. Please change your search by clicking “change dates” or call 877. 632. 7000 for more assistance.
I got the Mandalay Bay Codes Here: http://www. kidsinvegas. com/kid-friendly-hotels. html
And everyone of the Promo Codes said the Date was booked.
So that deal from Orbitz may not be too bad after all.
