Can someone suggest a good hotel near Cape Town International Airport??

I’m looking for something close to the airport but that is also clean and safe. Any suggestions?

   There are plenty of good hotels to choose from, but your best bet may be Mount Nelson (12 miles away)

   We stayed at the Stellenbosch Protea Hotel (in Technopark) GOOD service, clean spacious rooms and amazing veiws. Not close to the airport but Im sure they offer a shuttle service.

   The only hotel really close to the airport is the Road Lodge (refer http://www. roadlodge. co. za). Although this hotel is pretty decent, the only thing it is close to IS the airport – if u want to see anything in CT or go shopping, u’ll have to drive out to other areas anyway. AND there is a large township (informal settlement) very close to the airport (these areas are notorious for crime so the last thing u want is to get stuck on the N2 highway and be robbed).

   Central Cape Town is 20 minutes away from the airport so not that far-out AND there are plenty of hotels with easy access routes to the airport.

   What I can advise is this: Stay at the Southern Sun StayEasy at Century City which is next door to Canal Walk (biggest shopping mall in Cape Town. It’s just off the N1 highway not very far from central Cape Town (to get back to the airport, u would take the N1-Paarl, then N7-Goodwood exit and then the N2-Stellenbosch highway).    From a “clean” and “safety” aspect, your best bet would be to rather stay in a location that is more urban (the airport area is more industrial than urban). I would recommend hotels either in Central Cape Town (like hotels in the Southern Sun group, Protea Hotel group or Courtyard Hotel group). You can check their websites for hotel locations, distance from the airport, attractions, etc.

   The Pinelands City Lodge is about 7 minutes drive from the airport, midway between the airport and the city centre.

   I live close by and have relatives that have stayed there so can recommend it.

   try the stay easy. its a bit far (about 15 minutes) from the airport but its no very expensive. very clean and very very safe. its part of century city so you can walk to canal walk for food and stuff. when i’m down i cape town for business i prefer staying there.
