Ok, i first visited South Africa some time ago and loved it. When i returned, my friends were asking me whether i slept in a tent. When i showed them the pics i took of Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban..etc, they were shocked because they thought south africa was a desert and the cities looked very much like US cities, so know they want to come to SA with me and see the country for themselves. I want to know any grand posh hotels in either Cape Town, Durban or Jo’burg, thanks!

There are lots of 5-star hotels in South Africa to choose from.
Cape Town has the Mount Nelson Hotel, the Commodore among others.

Johannesburg (African Pride Melrose Arch), Pretoria (Centurion Lake Hotel) & Durban (Royal Hotel) also have several to choose from:

You can sort each list by “Hotel Class” — that’ll put the highest rated hotels first in the list.
Hope that helps. . . good luck, and have fun!
In Durban there are tons but i would recommend the Royale its five stars huge and sure to impress your friends
Well the Palace at Sun city. . . . tho its about 2 hours from JHB
Look for hotels and guesthouses in the outer suburbs from the the cities or towns. I would think guesthouses is a good option because it is more personal and your host will know all the good places to go to, as well as giving you advice on safety aspects. People that run guesthouses also would be able to refer you to other guesthouses if you are touring.
