Oklahoma City is a very popular business and leisure travel destination in the United States. The city is well known for its Old West history and rough past. This is also the largest and capital city of the Oklahoma State. Many attractions are based on this history and continue to be a popular destination for a cowboy experience. This is also a business destination because of the Cox Convention Center where big events like trade fairs and various conventions take place. Oklahoma City is the most important economic and social hub of the Oklahoma State. This is the reason why many companies’ headquarters are in this city. This is also a major destination for company events like meetings. The city just has so many things to offer; even business travelers shouldn’t miss the sights and attractions of this great city. Because of the massive number of visitors at any given time, hotels in Oklahoma City are abundant and all over the city. All kinds of hotels are available from the cheapest to the most expensive kind. The best locations of hotels in Oklahoma City are in the Bricktown Historical District and Will Rogers World Airport areas. Finest Hotels in Oklahoma CitySkirvin Hilton HotelThe Skirvin Hilton Hotel is famous because it is one of the oldest hotels in Oklahoma City. Its rich history dates back to 1911 where it first opened its doors. Many famous celebrities and historical figures stayed in this hotel before its closure in 1989. The Skirvin Hilton Hotel reopened in 2007 after extreme renovations and is now the favorite of business travelers. Oklahoma City MarriotThis is a 4-star hotel that boasts of a great view of the city and the captivating Lake Hefner just down the street. The rates are a little lower compared to other hotels in Oklahoma City but the service and amenities are superb. Locals flock to the hotel restaurant during special dates and other occasions. The Waterfront MarriotThis hotel in Waterford Boulevard is in the northwest part of Oklahoma City. Guests keep coming back to this hotel because of the quiet and relaxing atmosphere. It’s a little far from the main city but this is probably the best thing about this hotel. When you’re staying here, you can escape the stressful hustle and bustle of the main city. The façade of the Waterfront Marriot is simply beautiful and the interiors are also very nice.
The Sheraton Hotel
The Sheraton Hotel is probably the most popular of all the hotels in Oklahoma City. Its occupancy rates at any given time are a lot higher compared to other hotels in the area. This is because the hotel is very near the Cox Convention Center. During big events in the convention center, it is almost impossible to make a reservation in this hotel. You probably have to make your reservation more than a year in advance in order to ensure booking. The Colcord HotelThe Colcord Hotel is famous because it is the first skyscraper in Oklahoma City. It opened in 1910 as an office building. Although a little dated, the hotel is still very nice. The rates are a little high due to the hotel’s rich history but it’s still better than most hotels in the area.
