I’m going to cape cod in a few days and a friend of mine that went at this time last year said that a pair of tweezers that she brought got rusted through. I don’t really want to take a chance of having my laptop ruined, but it’s going to be in an air conditioned hotel. I live in Jersey so I really can’t imagine it being that much worse 300 miles north. I don’t know if she is just messing me or how true this might be. Anyone have any first hand experience with this?

I”m pretty sure you won’t be the only person on Cape Cod with a laptop. It’s not that humid in an air-conditioned hotel room, anyway.
Pure BS.
The tweezers probably rusted because of water from the tap, not the air.
Massachusetts rarely gets any type of severely humid or hot weather. Sure there might be a week or two in August where its fairly warm, but that area never really gets any prolonged heat waves or anything.
I lived right on the ocean up there for almost a decade and nothing ever rusted. The only rust that may have ever occurred would be under my car, and that would be a result of salting the roads during snowstorms, not humidity or ocean air.
Your laptop will be fine.
I live on Cape Cod and my laptop has not rusted yet. Your friend is either messing with you or she is very confused.
