Riu Montego Bay hotel Jamaica Resort? Spring Break?

Planning on going on Spring break somewhere in Jamaica. Was looking at the Riu Montego bay for an all inclusive. Going with 6 guys and all are interested in drinking primialy, price, and nightlife. Any other recommendations are welcome.

   I have been to Riu properties and would recommend them highly for someone my age (55) who is married and has kids. For spring break, NO WAY. Evening entertainment is nearly non-existent and what I have seen will put you to sleep. Their properties are spotless and the food is incredible, but as a party place, NOT!!!!!!

   Even at 55, I go to Hedonism II. That’s where the party is going to be. Negril. They have just opened another property which used to be Hedo III as now being called Super Fun Resort. I think the Super Fun will not compare to Hedo ( Mega Fun). I have been to Hedo 3 times and going back in December. The food in not that great but the party is on. They have a disco that goes basically until the sun comes up.

   I could be wrong at spring break time, but I am pretty confident in my opinion of Riu.

   If you want to go on the cheap, look into Club Ambiance out by Runaway Bay. Doesnt look like much from the road but people who have gone there rate it pretty good on Tripadvisor. com. I suggest you use this site for any resort you may consider.

   Here are the 5 reasons I can think of why Riu is better:

   - high quality service
   - all you can eat food
   - water sports
   - recently upgraded/updated
   - great locations

   My personal favourite is Riu Negril, due to the laid back atmosphere of Negril.

   I’ll say if there are 6 of you, a better deal is to rent a villa instead of an hotel.
   For the same price you are going to pay per person at an hotel you can rent your own villa, with a private pool, chef, made, food etc. Check http://www. thecaribbeanvillas. com/jamaica. php for more info. They work with local tour operators that can arrange tours, activities, transportation etc.

   Negril is awesome and by far my favorite place however since your looking to party Montego bay would probably be a better spot for you. Riu are good for young people, good for partying but people generally say its not nearly the 4 or 5 stars they claim to be and its overpriced, food just average, etc.

   I’m more familiar with Negril than Mobay but I would imagine you could find just as nice an AI for a better price than RIu

   Stayed at the Riu in Ocho Rios and had an awesome time! Close to shops, clubs and plenty of stuff to do at the resort.

   well the place for you to go is hedonism II you can do all the drinking and partying there.

   ClubHotel Riu Ocho Rios is kool. but I think hedonism II is better!!!

   Don’t do Montego Bay for spring break. Only consider Negril – Montego Bay is the true 3rd world. Maybe you all plan on never leaving the hotel property, then it’s fine – but awfully hard to meet girls handing out with 6 dudes. . . . but I don’t know your goals. RIU’s are all world class hotels – superb – it’s your location is a tad off is all.

   Is this guy above ↑ me (chadillac) serious about Montego bay. dude i hope you know the definition of 3rd world. (Because that so call 3rd world you are referring to can be found in the U. S too and in the state of Texas). . (I’ve been there). . . . . And its obvious that you do not know anything about about Jamaica or Montego bay. . . . . . . . . St Ann, Montego bay & Negril are one of the best places you can go & hang out. . . . . . . keep your ignorance to yourself. . . . . . dude

   Back to the question Negril is awesome go to riu but hedonism II is where all of the drinkers go.
